You can’t be called Happy’s Taco Shop and not make everyone around you happy. Their passion and excitement explodes with flavor in their food. So excited to have these guys back at The Little Fleet.

Tell us what's new this year about the truck (if you are returning)

Happy’s: Some new menu items and also some new faces. We have a few new employees that we are very excited for the patrons of The Little Fleet to get to know.

Tell us something about the menu that you are excited about

Happy’s: There’s going to be a brand new perch taco with sweet corn mayo and all kinds of other good things on it that we’re  pretty stoked on.

What are you listening to while you cook or do work?

Happy’s: While we cook we’ve been listening to Crumb, Built to Spill and The GZA’s Liquid Swords album a lot. For other projects the Rippingtons have been a favorite.

What's your favorite drink at The Little Fleet?

Happy’s: Any of Barbara’s cocktails

What's your favorite hike in the area?

Happy’s: As we are based out of the Petoskey/ Boyne area some of our favorite hikes are a little further north. Avalanche in Boyne City is a great little hike but if your looking for a more strenuous hike the Jordan Valley loop is really nice. Overall though the best hike in Michigan is Dead River Falls in Marquette.

What local produce are you most looking forward to using this year on the truck?

Happy’s: We’re excited for it all but most excited for all the different chiles Spirt of Walloon grows for us.

What have you been doing since you moved your truck out of The Little Fleet in October

Happy’s: We are open year round at our location in Petoskey and We also serve from our truck at the base of Boyne Mountain Resort all ski season. We really stay busy all year round. Outside of work most of us are into snowboarding so we have been perfecting a couple mind-blowing tricks like the three quarter knob and a slide ninety.

Do you have a favorite Little Fleet experience?

Happy’s: One that definitely sticks out was our first beverage at The Little Fleet. We just got done working our first shift as a rotating truck about five years ago. We ordered a couple Margaritas from Mackenzie and got to sit back and soak up the energy and atmosphere of The Little Fleet.

What's the best thing you ate recently?

Happy’s: The best thing I ate recently was a fried bologna sandwich from Turkey and the Wolf in New Orleans, it was Devine.
