Limited Edition Artist Tees: Release Party

Join us as we celebrate the release of some very special LIMITED EDITION LITTLE FLEET SHIRTS. We'll be kicking off the release of these t-shirts with a special party with the artist. DJ Giant Smiles will be spinning vinyl and artists will be on hand to talk about their work and selling other works. Here's a bit more about the tees:

The Little Fleet Limited Edition Artist Shirts: a new collection of limited edition t-shirts featuring designs by Northern Michigan artists. The new collection is being produced in association with Tee See Tee and features original artwork. The shirts will be for sale while supplies last. A portion of each sale will be given back to the artist.

Participating artist:
Jesse Jason is an artist who works mostly with oil paints and occasionally mixed media. His latest series is an attempt to capture a particular visceral feeling without the aid of any recognizable subject matter, or even a well structured composition. In doing so, Jesse hopes to give the viewer an ephemeral visual experience that is able to present something new with each viewing. Jesse’s work has appeared in various shows in Chicago, Portland, Lansing, Saginaw and Traverse City.

Micah Middaugh is a visual artist and printmaker, and the lyricist and guitarist of the band Breathe Owl Breathe- often described as childlike, timeless and whimsical. The music of Breathe Owl Breathe has always been steeped in magic. Their songs seem to occupy that hazy space between wakefulness and dreaming—where the tangible, earthly world meets the transcendental. With Breathe Owl Breathe, Micah has recorded five albums, released a children’s book, and logged several cross-country tours.

Courtney Michalik is director of photography for The Compass Points Here. A graduate of University of Michigan’s School of Art & Design, BFA. She was co-curator of the “Wildhearted” exhibition at Crooked Tree Art Center, Traverse City. Courtney lives in Traverse City, Michigan where she works documenting weddings, creating content for editorial pieces, and creates and sells one of a kind artworks.

Brianne Farley is an author/illustrator. She grew up in Northern Michigan where she learned to sing with whales, build pirate ships, and draw. One day, she hitched a ride on a polar bear and wound up in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she earned her BA in Creative Writing from Macalester College. Soon after, she migrated south to the Savannah College of Art and Design where she earned her MFA in Illustration. Her illustration work has appeared in the New York Times, McSweeney’s, This American Life, and The Rumpus. She has authored and illustrated two children’s books Ike’s Incredible Ink and Secret Tree Fort.
